Flexible Forming Heads Web formation is accomplished through rotating forming drums. Today's forming heads offer maximum grade flexibility and are provided with high performance drums in which many different types of fibres can be processed.
In fact, Dan-Web's forming heads are able to run 100 % synthetic fibre at both high and low basis weights in uniformly blended composites or as layered webs. This has opened up for production of industrial products like i.e. tea bags and enabled use in applications where a bottom or top layer is needed. Primary features in Dan-Web's machinery providing the uncomplicated forming process are:
- few adjustable parts
- lower energy consumption
- smaller and fewer engines due to better flexibility
- fibre length up to 10 mm
- easy to change drums when changing to other products
- easy to change to other product types
- possibility to use longer BICO fibres reducing the content of those expensive fibres = further cost savings
- much lower service costs
- easy cleaning
After airforming of the fibres on a forming wire the web is transported to the next process steps in the airlaid production.
